Its incredible what a discount you can find on used Lionel trains sets but that are still in mint condition. Quite a number of them still come in their original packaging. These used Lionel trains were produced in the 70s and 80s.

Do You Know The History of Lionel Trains?
Lionel Founder Joshua Lionel Cowen, born in 1877, arrived in New York after the Civil War. He grew up in a world of real trains that were the motor of industrial and economic changes. 1900 foundation of Lionel Corp., original producer of Lionel trains.
1969 General Mills buys Lionel, LLC, a designer & importer of toy trains and model railroads based in Chesterfield Townships, Michigan. It operates Lionel through MPC, Model Products Corporation, one of its subsidiaries.
Do You Know Where to Buy Lionel Trains?
Well, there are many places where you can buy new Lionel train sets. One is your local Lionel retail dealer or toy store.
Then you can buy Lionel trains online through any online dealer. However, usually prices are high and sometimes shipping costs can be prohibitive, and online stores reputation are not always know beforehand. Although having a local Lionel train retail store can be nice, most people do not live next to one.
I believe that the best deals and variety are found when you buy Lionel train sets on eBay...

What I Love About Lionel Trains…
Like many people I believe, I personally love the Lionel Polar Express train set. In 2004 I went with my older son, at the time he was only 3 years old, to see the Movie. It was the first movie my son saw at the cinemas, and it was a magic moment for both him and his parents.
Although the sound at the theater was way too loud, my son was immersed in the images, the sounds, the characters, the music, and of course the big polar express train. It only reinforced his love of toy trains, as he was already a big fan of Thomas the tank engine wooden train sets.
